Clinique Loves Your Dad!
What’s one of the best things you can give your dad this coming Father’s Day? Some skin care knowledge and matching products! Guys also need to take care of their skin as part of good hygiene, you know.
I had a chat with Clinique Rustan’s Makati resident Beauty and Skin Expert Elsa and here’s what I’ve learned about the new Clinique line for Men.
There are 2 variants, one is for normal skin and the other one is for oily skin. Let’s talk about the Normal line first.
Like the women’s line, this line also consists of cleanse, exfoliate and moisturizing products. The face wash is the primary product to remove dirt on the face but it doesn’t remove deep seated dirt so you need to exfoliate. This product for exfoliation also removes dead skin cells.
After that, moisturizer helps to balance the water and oil in the skin.
Oil Control
Again, this line has cleanse, exfoliate and moisturizing products. This is good for acne prone and oily skin. As we all know dirt + oil = breakout.
The exfoliating product removes excess oil. It has salicylic acid which is good for exfoliation.
Most people think that if they have oily skin, they can skip the moisturizer. That is so wrong. Oily skin still needs to be moisturized to replenish the lost oil from cleansing and exfoliating. If you don’t moisturize the skin, it will eventually dry up.
I also asked what factors affect skin changes as my skin is always changing. Elsa said that there are many factors such as the seasons, hormonal changes, the environment and stress. All these things can affect your skin’s condition.
