My 14 Travel Must-Haves: Baguio June 2025 Edition
We just got home from Baguio. I love Baguio. I consider it my second home. We've been there thrice in the past 6 months. I heal better there. The rashes on my face calm down, my immune system also chills out. I eat better. Plus less pollution.
For this trip, these were my must-haves:
1. Charger Cases
Can you believe, I forgot to bring a charger on our last trip? It was such a hassle! I had to borrow mom's charger and buy one when we went to SM Baguio! So this time around, I vowed to remember it by buying some cute cases! I put them in a place where I will always see them before the trip to remind me that I need to bring them.
2. Gummy vitamins
If you're like me and sensitive to everything, even supplements, you may want to try gummy vitamins for kids. The recommended dose is twice a day, but I only take one to avoid any sensitivities. I was too lazy to look for my pill case. Anyway, this Hello Kitty ziplock bag is less bulky.
I took some vitamins with us because the rainy season has started and I heard that there are cases of monkey pox in Baguio.
3. Thin notebook and a reliable pen that writes smoothly
This is my Sarasa. The ink is black. The notebook is just a generic kraft notebook that I sell on Shopee. I always get ideas for my books, blogs, and online courses while in Baguio, so I keep these close.
4. A small box cutter. Extra points if it's cute!
This cutter saved us the last time we were there in March. My smaller luggage's zippers got stuck! Something went wrong in the mechanism and I couldn't open it! So I used this to push the locks and just brute strength pulled one zipper to open! I was able to open it and got our things! The next day, we went to SM and bought a new luggage.
This is also helpful when opening snacks or that Grab plastic bag that's been tied a million times! Also those annoying tapes on the food packs.
5. Blood Sugar Candies
I put these in my crossbody so they're always with me. These are lifesavers! When we're stuck in traffic or when lunch is running late, these jack up our blood sugars quickly. I try to eat one or two before I start feeling dizzy. The Mentos is especially loaded with so much sugar that my blood sugar pops up in just minutes!
6. Crossbody bags
I've learned the importance of light, crossbody bags on our last trip. We had more stuff to bring home and my shoulder bag wasn't helping. I needed my hands free and my shoulders more free! These bags are light and fits most of my stuff. The Adidas fits all my stuff. Whereas the black crescent bag fits a tiny amount of stuff. If you want to read more about these bags, check out my post in my fashion and beauty blog.
7. Hand Lotion
In Manila, my hands are always very dry because of constant dishwashing. This hand lotion helped my hands heal while I was in Baguio. I will make a review of this in my beauty blog.
8. Snacks
If you're going on a road trip, you gotta have snacks! These were our immediate snacks (because we have hotel snacks, too!): Chex Mix, Japanese Rice Crackers, and Marshmallow Fries. Will review this in my food blog. These were especially helpful on our way up Baguio. The traffic was terrible on the exit from Manila so lunch was running late. I have to eat every 2 hours and these staved off hunger and blood sugar drops.
By the way, I did a review of these Japanese Rice Crackers in my food blog.
9. Small Cute Ziplocks
As you can see, they're very versatile. You can use it for different things. I used to have pouches or plastic containers for these but it's hard to move luggage around when they're heavy and bulky so I opted for these for this trip. They pack better and lighter.
10. Beauty Masks
I know it sounds ridiculous, but I don't have time to use these when I'm at home, so I try to bring one or two when we travel. Aside from the physical benefits, it also helps me unwind and gives me that spa feeling in the hotel.
11. The Face Shop Herb Day Cleansing Tissue
I know most of you ladies bring makeup remover wipes. But hear me out. These are so good that they double as brush cleaners! I'll tell you a hack in my beauty blog using this.
12. Sponge and dish soap
I know it's a vacation but I always bring a sponge and dish soap for our water bottles and the hotel glasses. I saw a documentary wherein the housekeeper just wiped the glasses. And she used the same rag that she wiped the counter with! Ugh.. So, to make sure everything is clean, I bring these. If I can't bring them, I make sure to buy them on my first day there.
13. Bottle Pouches
I love these! They are so sturdy and lightweight and take up just a little bit of space! I just fill them up with shampoo, conditioner, and facial wash. When we finish one, I just throw it away so I have less stuff to carry back home. But, I only throw it away if it contained something that I don't have any more refills of. For example, I threw one that contained shampoo that I can no longer find here.
14. Travel-Sized Toiletries
I'm always on the lookout for travel-sized versions of my favorite toiletries. I don't have to transfer them to the bottle pouch above anymore. Saves time and energy. I can also just toss it in the trash when they run out during our trip. Correction, I don't put it in the bin. I always put all recyclables in a separate area so that housekeeping will have an easier time segregating.
