Marich Chocolates

We like browsing the aisles of Healthy Options. Sure, a lot of their wares are expensive but some are priced okay in my opinion. Some are really delicious with quality ingredients like this box of chocolates.

These are chocolate covered nuts. My son and I love nuts except for peanuts. It's a good thing he is not allergic to them. The nuts in this chocolate are easy to chew, probably because I keep the box in the fridge. The chocolate is also nice, not too sweet. It is the perfect after lunch dessert for us. We only eat a few pieces at a time as chocolate makes my son constipated. (If you have a constipated kid, try limiting their intake of chocolate). The box will last us a few weeks.

We also tried the blueberry version of this. It was also delicious but I like nuts better. I think I may have a photo of that somewhere in my archives. I will share it with you soon.

Soft Oreos

I've been having a hard time blogging because my son wants to be part of everything I do. If he sees me typing on the laptop, he starts tapping away on the keyboard too. When he's asleep, I do chores so really, blogging time is scarce. I hope you guys understand.

My temporary fix nowadays is to take photos using my phone and then blog using the iPad. It's a quick way to publish posts. So, please bear with me in the coming weeks or months.

Moving on, I'd like to share with you these Soft Oreo cookies. Mom got them for us during the weekend. They taste like Oreos but are super soft. They look like macarons too! They easily crumble. We put them in the fridge. The center has a dot of blueberry filling which was delicious. My son and I finished 6 cookies in one sitting. I had to stop myself from getting more.

If you are able to find these babies, go and get them! You won't regret it.

My Mega NBS Warehouse Sale 2015 Haul

Hey guys! I've been away because I've been busy shopping at the NBS Warehouse Sale. The sale started last Thursday. We went there twice. Here's what I got.

I heard that they are extending the sale until August 23. If you want to get great bargains for yourself and do some early Christmas shopping, I suggest you head on over to NBS Quezon ave branch.

A few tips:

1. Go there early as the lines are super long even at 8 am.
2. Bring some water, wet wipes and fan. It's super hot and dusty. You will need these while you are queuing for the cashier.
3. If you have a car, parking opens at 9 am, same time as the sale. If you come early, there are a few spaces in front of the building.
4. Bring your own bags. They will only provide boxes.
5. The sale happens at the 4th floor. They display new stocks daily so there is always something new to see. The things that we saw on the first day were no longer available today.

Energy Snacks

I used to just eat 3 meals a day but when I got pregnant, I knew I had to eat more. So, I stocked up on snacks. If you are looking for some energy food, check these out.

These two products are from Malaysia. My sister got them for me. My son and I love nuts. We like snacking on them and pistachios are high up on our list. The bag of pistachios above is really affordable in Malaysia. Here in Manila, they are super expensive.

Another energy boosting snack are these Milo Nuggets. We're all familiar with Milo. You just chew these but they taste just like the drink. The actual product does not look anywhere near those perfect nuggets on the photo. They look like random blobs of chocolate. Nevertheless, my son likes them. I do limit his intake though. I only give him 3-5 nuggets and they are a mix of big and small.

Check these out the next time you are in Malaysia.

Pororo Biscuits

Continuing my Landmark finds, I also found this box of Pororo biscuits.

My son likes Pororo so I thought he'd like this too.

Turns out, I was wrong. He made one bite and then ignored the rest. I, on the other hand, loved it. It reminded me of Ritz crackers. They are the perfect grown up biscuits.

Great Supermarket Finds

I love going to the Landmark supermarket every now and then to check out their sale and specials rack. Here are a few things I found.

I've been having quite a success with Olay bath and body products. I thought I'd give this a try. The box comes with 6 bars and a makeup pouch. I tried the soap for the first time last night and it left me with a good impression. The scent was very mild, reminds of Olay or Johnson's baby soap. It also makes a good lather. The size is right too.

I bought a jar of blueberry jam and got this bag for free.

From Lee Kum Kee, I bought a big bottle of oyster sauce and premium soy sauce. I got this bento box for free that includes utensils and chopsticks.

This is the pouch that came with the Olay box.

What are your favorite supermarket finds?

Easy Bar

The EasyBar is an easy snack. Just open a pack, push the product out and start munching.

It is a cheesy corn snack that is very addicting. My sister got this in Malaysia. It's crunchy, sweet and salty - everything I could ask for in junk food.

This is also a great pasalubong (homecoming gift). It's cheap, light and easy to pack.

Mini Bahulu

What are mini bahulus? Well, they are basically mini sponge cakes. This bag is from Malaysia. I was skeptical at first but my sister said they are really good. So, one afternoon, we opened the bag. My son and I tasted them and we got hooked! They are like our local mamon but these are more springy. They're not fluffy but they have the perfect texture for me. They're not overly sweet but just right.

My son found the "little flowers" cute. He can finish around 6 to 10 of these in one sitting. Yeah, they're really good for something very simple and affordable.

So the next time you are in Malaysia, check this out and get a few bags for pasalubong (homecoming gift).

My New Favorite Prawn Snack

I'm sorry Calbee..we had a good run but I have to let you go in favor of this:

My sister got this for me as a pasalubong (homecoming gift) from Malaysia. Readers from Singapore and Malaysia are very familiar with the retail chain Giant. I was very surprised that a house brand could be this good.

I like this better than Calbee because it is less salty. It has the perfect combination of sweet and salty and the crunch.. I just love the crunch especially when I get one that is extra toasted. My sister also loves this snack so much that she hoarded. We have two big eco bags full of this stuff. This is an affordable pasalubong to get if you drop by Singapore or Malaysia.
