Old Navy Opens in Manila!

Shopping is getting more exciting here in Manila! For the past few years, several big name brands have been coming to our shores. Today (Sunday) we went to Old Navy in Glorietta. It was jam packed with people! Everyone in the queue to the counter had at least 2 items in their shopping bag or hands. The items were really good. I am very happy that they have merchandise for babies! I was able to buy several shirts for my little one. I also got a shirt for MB. For me, I passed. Maybe next time. I’m planning to go shopping at Mango before the Holy Week but I will definitely do some serious shopping at Old Navy soon.

F1 Hotel–The Breakfast Buffet

This is part 3 of my series of posts about our staycation at F1 Hotel. We had a breakfast buffet there. Here are some photos of the food.

IMG_7467

This was my plate. I loved the boneless bangus and the adobo. So good for breakfast! The tapa was alright but the bacon was terrible. It was soft and chewy! Oh, how I hate soft bacon!

IMG_7468

MB got a similar plate.

IMG_7469

I had some egg drop soup which I totally forgot to take a photo of until the last spoonful. This was good, by the way.

IMG_7470

The arroz caldo was okay. Lots of ginger which I don’t like but it was delicious nevertheless. I love me some good arroz caldo! This is one of my favorite comfort foods.

IMG_7471

Didn’t like the mini pancakes and waffle. They were cold and rubbery.

IMG_7472

Didn’t like this sausage either. There are many dishes to choose from. I just wasn’t too hungry that day. Looking back, I wish I’d eaten more!

The waiters were friendly and attentive to the needs of the diners. I was checking out the food offerings when my son spat up. He did that a lot when he was younger. I thought it was GERD but the milk was the culprit. The waiter noticed it and immediately handed me a ton of napkins to wipe my son’s mouth. He also proceeded to wipe the floor and wipe the milk off my foot and I was wearing slippers! I was sooo embarrassed! I told him it was not necessary to do that but he just said it was okay. He wasn’t squeamish or anything about the whole ordeal. Even the chef had a good time talking and making faces with my son. They have really nice staff there.

Here’s my boy eating a slice of watermelon. He just loves fruits especially juicy ones.

After breakfast, we went to the pool area to lounge a bit.

We are definitely going on another staycation this year.

My Bath and Beauty Staycation Essentials

I am a big packer especially during staycations. It’s funny because we are still in the city and yet I insist on bringing almost everything with me. When we go abroad, I make sure to pack light… or at least lighter than usual.

During our staycation at F1, I brought the following bath and beauty stuff.

IMG_7444

Here’s my makeup. I brought my Hello Kitty for Sephora brushes. I put them in my Sigma brush holder. I also brought my ELF brush and my Shu eyelash curler.

Bobbi Brown BB Cream, Benefit Erase Paste, The Body Shop Chocomania Body Butter, Hello Kitty Hand Cream, Vitamins, Bobbi Brown eyebrow kit, MAC Girl Boy, Kiss Me Liquid Liner, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Kiss Me Mascara, MAC Chez Chez Lame, Too Faced Glamour to Go Fairy Edition Palette and a pair of scissors. I always bring a pair whenever we travel because it is very handy when opening shampoo sachets, etc.

Here are some more of my toiletries:

F1 Hotel Review

I have been dreading this post like the plague just because I know it’s going to be really long and I don’t have the luxury to write long posts anymore due to mommy duties. Tonight, however, my son slept early and so I must face the music. Without further ado, here is my review on the F1 Hotel.

We went to F1 for a staycation during my husband’s birthday week last year. This was last November. Here are a few pics of our room.

IMG_7437

I always have to check out the bathroom first… and put out my beauty junk.

IMG_7438

The bathroom was small but it was clean and the big sink and table were fine with me. I was able to put out all my beauty and bath essentials.

IMG_7439

This was my work area. There was free WiFi. I had to work that day and this table came in very useful. It was placed at the back of the bed so my boys won’t be able to disturb me.

IMG_7440

These are the mini bar and closet. The fridge is inside the smaller closet. The closet is a standard-size hotel closet. They provided us with bath robes and slippers. They also have ironing facilities which is great as my husband likes ironing his clothes. I don’t. I prefer wash and wear clothes.

IMG_7442

This is the bed after my son and his dad played, rolled, jumped, etc. on it.

IMG_7443

This is the side table…the before look. Come night time, it was full of my son’s stuff – milk bottles, snacks, etc.

F1 is a lovely hotel. Our room was nice and spacious. I had a bit of a problem with the concierge though as they took so long to bring our luggage up. My son’s lunch was in one of the bags and he was already hungry. We had to follow them up several times. Finally, I went down to reception and asked where our luggage was so that I can just get my son’s food bag. They kept saying that the luggage is on its way up so I had no choice but to go back. I totally forgot that I needed a card to swipe on the lift to get to my floor. Good thing they have staff on the floor that have key cards. They were very helpful and sent me on my way to our room.

After a few minutes when I got back to our room, the doorbell rang and our luggage finally arrived.

Here’s my husband feeding our very hungry little boy.

The Ms. Earth Beauty Pageant was happening the same day we checked in. The candidates were staying there as well so we would always have a beauty queen with us in the lift. I sent my husband on an errand with our son and it so happened that they stepped onto the lift that was filled with beauty queens from different countries. My husband said they all went crazy over the little one. My son even held hands with one of them. Such a chick magnet this little one…

We had a really great staycation in that hotel. My son was also very happy as well. It was his first time in a hotel. He rolled around the bed like crazy! We would definitely stay there again. The place is great, good location (in front of S&R and walking distance to Bonifacio High Street and the malls in its vicinity) and we had a really relaxing time there.

I will leave you with a photo of my then 5-month old little boy. He had fun sitting, crawling and rolling around this couch.

I will write more about this staycation in future posts.

Vidal Sassoon Intensive Hair Mask

My Kerastase hair mask finally ran out so I needed a replacement. I didn’t want to buy another jar again because it was too expensive and my hair is not damaged anymore. I tried this pot of Vidal Sassoon Intensive Hair Mask. It did not disappoint.

It smells nice and it’s not hard to distribute. It also rinses out immediately. My hair can also absorb this product quickly. I leave this on for about 10 minutes then I rinse my hair 2-3 times.

I think this costs around Php300. I already finished this pot and I will definitely buy another one soon!

The Best Bib We’ve Ever Tried

IMG_7129

My son used to spit up a lot so we needed a steady supply of bibs. One day, while browsing the stuff at Tommee Tippee and Munchkin, my favorite SA suggested this silicone bib to me. It’s washable and folds up nicely. It’s great for travel. My son was too small for this bib when I bought it so he hated it. He would cry whenever I would put this on him. After a few months, he became bigger and so I tried this again. He liked it this time! Actually, he liked it so much that he kept on chewing it.

I like that pocket in front that catches all the food. I don’t need to worry about doing the laundry. This is constantly in our baby bag as it is really great for when we are outside. I only need to wash it or wipe it with some wet wipes and it’s clean again. The silicone material also does not hurt my baby’s sensitive skin.

This was a really good investment!

A Few Empties

I finished a few products over the course of a month.

IMG_8415

This is a great product to minimize pores. I used it because I noticed that my pores were larger than usual. I don’t know if that’s because of my pregnancy or what. I just finished the last bits of this today.

IMG_8416

This is a another great product from NARS. This is one of the best primers I’ve ever used. Will I repurchase? Maybe. I am still on a NARS ban because I really don’t like their packaging. This tube is an exception though.

IMG_8417

Bobbi Brown skin care products are love. This one did a good job of fixing my super dry facial skin.

IMG_8418

I didn’t use this as a makeup remover because it stings. I used it to clean my brushes. It was so effective!

IMG_8419

Finally, my Chubby Stick. I won’t repurchase as the color is too sheer for me. I still also have a ton of lippies left so lipstick ban for me too.

A Few Things

Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last blogged. I’m very busy with my son. He is becoming a handful now. He is only 8 months old but he is learning how to walk already! Such a bright boy!

A lot has happened already. I had my birthday a couple of weeks ago. A special shout out goes to SalmonCat for remembering! Thank you for always remembering my birthday!

We went to Singapore to celebrate. If you can recall, I was in the hospital last year during my birthday because I bled. We have so much to be thankful for. My family and I had a great time in Singapore. I bought so much stuff at IKEA, it’s crazy! I I also bought a few other things from different stores. I will blog about them soon.

I also caught a virus while I was there. This is the second week that I’ve been sick. My poor son caught the bug from me too. We rushed him to the hospital last Saturday morning because I got scared that his temp reached 39.5 C. We were in the ER at 3 am. Thank God he is okay now. He still has some cough and colds but he is on the way to recovery. My poor husband is the one who has fever now. I told him to stay home so he can rest. This is a really nasty virus. Good thing I am now taking an anti-viral prescribed by my super doctor.

My son is sleeping now that is why I am able to blog. I still have a lot of writing to do. I hope I can blog more today. Catch you guys soon!
